Penelope ~ Quarter Horse Mare
The picture to the left was taken on the day Penelope arrived at the sanctuary. Her previous owner had put a stallion in with her and several other mares in an effort to breed them. Fortunately, she did not become pregnant.
Penelope is what I would consider a feral horse with human issues. I don’t know what happened to her in her previous life, but whatever it was, it has left a lasting negative impression on her that we are trying to overcome on a daily basis.
This is penelope now.
